STS-114 Radio Sound Pack v1.0 for Orbiter 2005.

D. Beachy, 8.21.2005

These files are FREEWARE and may not be sold.

NOTE: Before installing this you will need to have DanSteph's excellent Orbiter Sound 3.0 module installed. You can get it here: http://orbiter.dansteph.com/index.php?disp=d
---------------------------------------------------------------

This is a collection of sound clips between CAPCOM Canadian Astronaut Julie Payette and the STS-114 crew during their 15-day mission. These files were extracted from raw MPEG-2 video files downloaded directly from my TIVO and then downmixed to 48KHz, 16-bit mono. All but 2 clips are <= 10 seconds in length; if you're like me, constant 30-second radio clips get annoying after awhile...

And yes, CAPCOM Julie Payette looks just as good as she sounds. :)

To install:

1. Extract STS-114_orbiter_sound_pack.zip to your C:\Orbiter directory, making sure that "Use folder names" is checked. This will extract 22 wav files to C:\Orbiter\Sound\Radio\217.114 STS-114.

2. Bring up Orbiter and select the "Radio/MP3" MFD (SHIFT-R).

3. Click the FRQ button or press SHIFT-F to bring up the frequency dialog. Enter "217-114" (without the quotes).

4. Click the SWP button or press SHIFT-S to swap in the new frequency you just entered.

That's it. Happy flying!

P.S. If you want to change how often you hear ATC messages, run the C:\Orbiter\SoundConfig.exe utility and modify the "ATC Delay..." settings.
